0:00
The Imminency of the Book, and why church ages are a silly concept
5:11
The intent of the study is to give a general understanding of the book, along with the tools necessary to understand it.
7:00
Going to cover one last church--Laodacia
8:28
The last day apostasy was taking place during the time of the writing of the Epistles.
14:55
In Chapter 5, we get a vision of the Lamb with 7 horns and 7 eyes.
16:48
The thousand year reign is figurative language that reviews a literal truth--the reign will be eternal.
17:54
Definition of terms: Premillennialism, Dispensational Premillennialism, Postmillennialism, and Amillennialism (which is the historical position of the Church since the apostles)
21:10
Pastor Scott's Camp: doesn't like labels, but Revelation should be taken from a partial-mostly preteristic view
27:16
Major views on the Millennium: Idealist, Historicist, Preterist, and Futurist.
29:01
Zechariah 4's interpretation helps us understand how to interpret Revelation 4 & 5.
33:43
Interpretation of the two trees.
37:53
The candlestick is the elect--OT Saints and the Church.
38:57
The light the Church holds up is not self-derived. It is pictured by the oil supplied to the lamp, and is the Spirit of God
40:20
This is supplied to the Church through praise, prayer, meditation on the word, teaching of the word, christian communion, ministry of other believers, the sacraments, etc.
40:50
The number 7 indicates perfection and completeness.
41:23
The filling of the bowl above is a picture of Jesus' two offices as priest and king.
41:39
Zechariah 6 continues the vision of Jesus as King and Priest.
42:33
Pontius Pilate repeats Zech 6 during Jesus' trial. He also prepares Him for sacrifice by declaring Him without fault, and saying 'behold the man' (thus quoting from Zech 6).
44:10
Zechariah 4 is easy to understand, and gives great insight and understanding into person and work of Jesus Christ. This gives us great encouragement.
47:03
Application #1: don't be disheartened in the work of the Lord.
47:27
Faith laughs at the impossibility that God's plan could ever be thwarted.
49:18
Jesus is the point of everything in the Bible. He is the glory of God.
53:42
In order to get Revelation we must understand that it is the Revelation of Jesus Christ--not a crystal ball to predict the future, or the revelation of the Antichrist.
56:27
You don't need to understand the details of the interpretive camps to understand the book. The point of Revelation is that Jesus wins, Jesus reigns, and His plan is exactly what is coming to pass.
58:00
If you want to be an "overcomer", and receive the promises made to the churches in Revelation, you must learn to see things the way God does--Biblically.
59:29
There will not be a secret coming of Jesus--when Jesus comes again, everybody will know.
1:02:09
7 Visions of Jesus Christ in Revelation
1:04:18
Revelation 3:21-22, the way Jesus you conquered, you will conquer, so have hope!
1:06:51
Revelation 4:1-11
1:08:41
The point of this vision of the door is that there is now a way of access to God.
1:12:17
These things would happen soon--in the day and age of the recipients of the book of Revelation, who were already living during what John called "the last time".
1:13:18
Out of time, we'll pick up in the next class wih a right view of God's sovereignty.
