About the city of Ephesus itself

In order to get into the Agora--the cultural center of Ephesus--you had to proclaim that "Caesar is Lord". Without doing this, you could not buy or sell.

Ephesus was filled with oracles, who were demon possessed people who performed miraculous wonders by the power of Satan.

The worship of Artemis consisted of drunken orgies, and demonic sacrifices like ritual self-emasculation.

Despite the corruption of the culture of ephesus, the Ephesian church was having a dramatic impact on the city.

The first works that Jesus told the Ephesians to return to.

What the Ephesians did at the beginning was to gather together everyday to talk about the things of God, and get into the word of God

To the one who makes Jesus their life, He promised fullness of Joy.

The application of this text to us is clear. Wherever point we are at, we need to return to a place where simply knowing Jesus was everything to us.
