How the rest of the class will go
0:00
The dispensational view is about to collapse
1:57
The things that happened soon actually happened soon.
5:26
We’re talking about Eternal Judgement in the context of Revelation 20. Holding a future view causes all kinds of problems—Malachi is an example.
5:47
Malachi is an indictment against apostate Israel.
6:28
Jesus said the prophecy of Elijah coming from Malachi 4:5 is fulfilled in Matt 11:14
7:39
The gospel has already been preached to all the nations in the Roman world—as predicted in Matthew 24:14—according to Paul in Colossians 1:5-6, 23
9:53
Don’t forget what we’ve already studied. A summary of what Revelation is and teaches.
11:29
The silly beliefs of the futurist regarding the judgment.
12:50
Revelation 20:11-15
13:39
There is a courtroom, there will be terror for the condemned, and awe for the believers.
17:37
The Great White Throne is an interesting term in greek—unapproachable in purity. Everyone who thinks their good deeds will outweigh their evil deeds will find out immediately that even their so-called good deeds reveal the blackness of their heart.
21:02
Our responsibility is to hold to the truth that Jesus alone is the source of our salvation.
23:03
The Throne means rule and judgement—Jesus Christ will reveal His sovereign judgment on that day, and nobody will be able to escape it.
23:46
The Judge Himself: Jesus Christ is the executor of the wrath of God. He is the righteous judge in Revelation 20:11
24:31
The ones being judged: The dead great and small standing before the throne, and each were judged according to what they had done.
27:45
Those not found written in the Book of Life: those who were not elect, and were thrown into the Lake of Fire.
28:42
The elect were written in the Book of Life before the foundation of the world, the can’t be removed form it, and will all be saved.
29:18
The person who is saved will love the people of God, care about the things of God, and will grow more like Christ.
31:58
No Christian will ever lose their Salvation is not dependent on our behavior, but on Jesus’ faithfulness to keep us until the end.
34:10
If Jesus died to save every single person, He’s doing a really bad job. But He didn’t die for everyone—He only died for the elect.
36:02
The Books were opened: one of these books is a list of all the works each of us have ever done.
37:16
Jesus was under the Old Covenant, a very important truth to understand. He told us that we would give an account for every careless word, because by our words we will be justified or condemned.
40:01
The writer of Hebrews said that we must give an account to the one who sees everything.
42:30
The Books were opened: the second book will be the Bible. This is where teachers will face a harsher judgment.
44:44
Our judgment as believers will be more of a review, not a judgement day. We will be judged by the law of liberty according to James 2:12. This will be a review to see if we were really born again—did the gospel change our life? Are we a new man? Evidence of fruit will be expected from.
47:10
Our work on judgement day will be tested according to 1 Corinthians 3:11-15. It is possible for Christians to actively build something that will burn in judgement. These gold, silver, and precious stones are the ways in which our lives reflect the glory and beauty of Christ.
50:22
Peter gives a step-by-step explanation of how to be effective and fruitful in the body of Christ in 2 Peter 1:3-11. Every quality listed is a fruit of the Spirit. This is a recipe, and Peter tells us to get out the mixing bowl of our soul, and throw in these components, by putting them into practice and having our minds transformed by scripture.
55:58
The Book of Life: it’s really the book of Grace, since everything in our salvation was purchased by Christ and ordained from before the foundation of the world.
1:01:06
Revelation 21:1-5 John has another vision after the vision of judgment. Jesus says in verse 5 that is is making—present tense—all things new. This means that beginning at the time of John’s vision, and continuing to this day, is the renewing (or redemption) of the heavens and the earth.
1:03:17
Creation itself will be redeemed—nothing of the sin-cursed earth will remain, but Jesus will make the whole of creation new, according to Romans 8:18-25.
1:05:06
The escapist idea has decimated the church and rendered us unprofitable, but the Bible teaches that we must strive to advance the Kingdom of God, and so be conquerers.
